Judgment & Execution

Q Can I pay by installments?
A
In most cases an installment plan is possible but please speak to the Coroner about this.

Q Is interest charged on the debt?
A Interest is applied to some debts, the Coroner will explain.

Q Do I pay the Plaintiff?
A
No, the debt and the associated fees and poundage must be paid to the Coroner.

Q What about Income Tax, can I pay that direct?
A
No all Executions must be paid to the Coroner

Q What happens if I find I’m having difficulties in paying?
A It is very important to keep the Coroner advised of your circumstances. The Coroner will assist you as much as possible.

Q What happens if I fail to pay this debt?
A
The Coroner has far reaching powers when it comes to recovery of debts; these include seizing property and goods to sell and also he can seizing bank accounts. The Coroner can also seek installment orders and attachment of earning orders. Also failure to pay a Judgment & Execution will appear on your credit files and can affect your ability to obtain credit in future.
